Intro
Kranti Gada is a seasoned media executive turned entrepreneur who is redefining early childhood development in India through neOwn — India’s first tech-enabled, app-based book rental and curation platform for children. After a distinguished 17-year career at Shemaroo Entertainment, where she rose to Chief Operating Officer and led the company’s transformation into a digital-first organisation, Kranti pivoted to entrepreneurship in 2023 driven by a deeply personal insight as a mother of two. She founded neOwn with a clear mission: to make quality physical books accessible, joyful, and affordable for India’s screen-dominated generation of children. Today neOwn operates pan-India with a catalogue of curated children’s books, a toy library, a Workbooks Hub, regular community workshops, and a growing community of 15,000+ parents. The platform is built around a subscription model with free delivery in Mumbai and doorstep service nationally. Kranti launched the Million Readers Movement in 2025 — an initiative to inspire one million young readers across India through pledges, events, and community engagement. She is an NMIMS and IIM Bangalore alumna, a BW Disrupt 40 Under 40 awardee, and has been recognised as one of India’s inspiring women leaders redefining success in entrepreneurship.
